“My 3 kids and I had the privilege of being a part of one of Mr. Sissel’s presentations. We were visiting my mom in Oregon and she brought Mike in to her church to speak to the youth group. It was such an amazing experience to see Mike in action and how he had the students full attention the entire time. He made it very interactive and the kids participated just as much as he spoke. The rest of our trip in Oregon was filled with reminders of that day and what Mike had taught us about “the ripple effect”. We were able to put it into practice right away and remind each other how we were effecting one another. We also saw things differently, with a new “lens”. It really made our trip so special. Since then, I have been able to share videos and posts from KaleidoEye to my kids and they are always excited to see and hear what Mike has to say. We still talk about it to this day and that was 2 years ago. Mike made (and still does) such an amazing connection with my kids that will last a lifetime. “Mike, the guru on emotional intelligence, has offered so much knowledge to our students and staff. He started with one major concept, “The Ripple Effect” and demonstrated how one act can ripple out to a multitude of people. He has come back many times to expand on these lessons and given our school community a new understanding on how to take charge of our own behaviors and attitudes. One of my favorite lessons that Mike teaches is “driver zone versus passenger zone”. This is a skill that students and staff greatly benefited from.
